AM DISAPPOINTED WITH CHAVEZ

What Hugo Chavez has done is not new,to be basic. But what it smirks of is the continued existence of minds so bent on holding on to power that they feel resuming the life of an ordinary man is something worthless.
Hugo Chavez,by pushing ahead with this legislation, brings me back to Africa, where it is common practice to change existing laws just to suit an individual's interests, which varies from person to person. It looks like its a permanent developing country phenomena.
It is a mindset that doesn't help our world. And here,Hugo Chavez has hugely failed.
What excites me most is the sentiment that comes out from the lips of presidents world wide:that because a country has a sovereign status,it is better left to itself to deal with its internal issues.
I don't fault the idea of being a soverein country here. What I am opposing is the act of playing with people's rights by abusing the lobbying power that most of the leaders have in their grip. This as a weapon, they run roughshod over established ideals and laws to maintain what they believe is the better way.Its turned out to be wrong most of the time. And that's what continues to destroy the world's democracies.
What I gather is that Hugo Chavez intends to complete his socialist revolution.I don't know if that's what the people in Venezuela need. But I am optimistic they wouldnt trade the term-limit for one individual's beliefs.Because it's this sentiment that has lead to the rise of dictators.
